Adjusting for inflation, $1.89 in 2001 amounts to approximately $3.56 today, while $2.09 translates to about $3.93. Despite these adjustments, the current prices are still significantly higher. Interestingly, the original sandwich was made with halibut, which was later replaced by cod and eventually evolved into using wild-caught Alaskan pollock.
