A devastating gold mine collapse in Zamboye, Central African Republic, has resulted in the death of over 100 individuals, according to local mining officials.
On Tuesday, as rescue operations continued, authorities reported that many miners, predominantly young men and women, were still trapped beneath the debris.
Bertrand Be Yangué, a member of the local youth council, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, noting the plight of families affected by the loss. "Finding them alive would be a miracle," he stated.
The prosecutor confirmed the incident and indicated that an investigation would be launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the collapse and the site's operations.
