Tragic Shootings Claim Lives of Two Palestinians in West Bank

In a tragic escalation of violence in the occupied West Bank, a 17-year-old boy and a 58-year-old man were shot dead on Friday, marking another dark chapter in the region’s ongoing conflict.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that Karim Sanad Raja Shalaldeh was killed by Israeli settlers in Sa’ir, near Hebron, after incidents of stone-throwing by Palestinians. His father recounted the heartbreaking moment at the hospital, confirming that settlers were responsible for his son’s death.

Meanwhile, in Jenin, Israeli forces fatally shot Fathi Khazem during a raid, claiming he attempted to stab a soldier. Khazem’s family has faced tragedy before, as his son Raed was involved in a deadly attack in Tel Aviv in 2022, and another son was killed in a previous military raid.

This year alone, at least 87 Palestinians have died in over 1,500 incidents involving Israeli settlers and military forces, according to Palestinian officials.
