Manchester United Finalizes £70m Deal for Carlos Baleba

Manchester United has successfully secured the services of Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba for a fee that could reach £70 million. Negotiations concluded Friday evening, allowing the 22-year-old to undergo a medical examination at Old Trafford this weekend.

The deal comprises an initial payment of £65 million with an additional £5 million in potential add-ons, alongside a sell-on clause for Brighton. Baleba, who joined Brighton from Lille in 2023, is currently recovering from an ankle injury sustained during pre-season training.

This transfer marks another significant investment for United this summer, bringing their total spending to £153 million and addressing the midfield gap left by Casemiro's departure after his contract ended.
