U.S. Envoy Kushner: Gaza Reconstruction Tied to Hamas Disarmament

In a firm stance, U.S. envoy Jared Kushner stated that the Trump administration will not permit the rebuilding of Gaza until Hamas disarms. Speaking in an interview, Kushner emphasized the need for demilitarization before any reconstruction efforts can begin.
During discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Kushner highlighted the importance of ensuring that funds do not support a region that could fall back under terrorist control. "We have a plan to rebuild Gaza, but we will not allow Gaza to be rebuilt until the demilitarisation occurs," he told Fox News.
Hamas had previously agreed to disarm as part of a U.S.-backed initiative, which included an Israeli withdrawal and cessation of hostilities. However, Israel rejected the proposal, insisting on full demilitarization first. Kushner, reinforcing Israel's security concerns, remarked, "We’re also not going to restrict Israel’s right to defend itself if there are any imminent threats." This comes amid ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza, which have resulted in significant casualties.
