Walmart to Introduce Contactless Payments, Including Apple Pay

Shoppers can look forward to a more convenient checkout experience at Walmart, as the retail giant announces the rollout of contactless payment options, including Apple Pay, by the end of 2023.

Starting August 24, select Walmart and Sam’s Club locations will implement the Tap to Pay feature, with a nationwide expansion planned by 2026 and fuel stations by mid-2027.

Walmart aims to enhance customer choice and simplify the shopping process, acknowledging its previous lag behind competitors in adopting such technology.
