Yabloko Faces Electoral Exclusion in Pskov Region

By Editor • August 25, 2026 • 1 min read

The Pskov Regional Court has disqualified Yabloko's party list from participating in upcoming legislative elections, citing a missing seal on their authorization form as the reason for the ruling.

This decision follows a lawsuit initiated by the Rodina party, which previously led to the Supreme Court's removal of Yabloko’s federal list from the State Duma elections on August 10. The Pskov region marks the fifth instance where attempts to exclude Yabloko from ballots have occurred, with previous removals noted in St. Petersburg, Leningrad, and Karelia.

Currently, Yabloko candidates remain active in the Kaliningrad, Novgorod, Pskov, Sverdlovsk, and Tomsk regions. Notably, Pskov is significant for Yabloko as it houses their only representation in the regional parliament, as well as the party's deputy chairman, Lev Shlosberg, who was recently sentenced to 11 years in prison for anti-war statements.
