Alastair Clarkson's Tenure with North Melbourne Concludes After Four Seasons

North Melbourne has officially ended its coaching relationship with Alastair Clarkson following four seasons marked by struggle. Clarkson, previously celebrated for leading Hawthorn to four premierships, was unable to secure a finals appearance for the Kangaroos.

Despite a contract extending to 2027, the club chose to part ways, with president Sonja Hood recognizing progress in the team's culture and performance. "We have created an environment where our staff and players want to be at our club," Hood stated, acknowledging the stability Clarkson brought.

Under his leadership, the Kangaroos won 20 out of 82 matches, including nine in the current season. The 2026 season marked their highest achievement during his tenure, finishing 14th on the ladder.
