Bang & Olufsen Unveils Nature-Inspired Beosound A9 with Kvadrat’s Woolscape Fabric

By Editor • September 1, 2026 • 1 min read

Bang & Olufsen is enhancing its Beosound A9 speaker through a collaboration with Kvadrat, introducing a fresh design that draws inspiration from Sweden's natural landscapes. The latest model features a striking Sienna Brown finish and is adorned with Kvadrat’s bespoke Woolscape fabric, developed in partnership with the Swedish design studio Front, founded by Sofia Lagerkvist and Anna Lindgren.

The Woolscape textile is uniquely crafted to reflect the colors of Sweden’s forests and lakes, aiming to reinterpret natural elements for modern interiors. Front's innovative approach involved creating a visual archive from nature, which was then transformed into a durable, double-knitted fabric that boasts a rich, tapestry-like texture. This fabric not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the A9 but is also designed to optimize sound performance.

According to the Kvadrat team, the creation process for the upholstery involved careful consideration of yarn weight to ensure a balance between texture richness and acoustic quality. The new fabric is said to react dynamically to different lighting conditions, contributing to a unique sensory experience.

Bang & Olufsen's Senior Director of Design, Kresten Bjørn Krab-Bjerre, emphasized the synergy between color, material, and form: 'This interplay allows the distinctive shape of A9 to remain at the center, bringing a new sense of depth to the speaker.' In addition to Mineral Red, the Woolscape covers will also be available in Black Anthracite, Gold Tone, and Natural Aluminium, creating a versatile range for consumers.

The Beosound A9 with Woolscape fabric is available at select Bang & Olufsen locations and online.
