CloudNC Secures $20 Million to Transform CNC Machining with AI Technology

By Editor • September 9, 2026 • 1 min read

CloudNC, a UK-based startup specializing in manufacturing software, has successfully raised $20 million in a Series B funding round, bringing its total funding to $128 million since its inception. The announcement was made on Wednesday by co-founder and CEO Theo Saville, who emphasized the company's commitment to automating critical aspects of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining.

Innovative Solutions for CNC Machining

Founded in 2015 by Saville and Chris Emery, CloudNC has developed AI-powered CAM Assist software that significantly enhances traditional manufacturing processes. The software integrates with existing CAM systems, such as Autodesk Fusion and Mastercam, automating the initial stages of part fabrication, which includes selecting tools and determining cutting strategies.

Meeting Industry Challenges

As the demand for efficient manufacturing grows, CloudNC aims to aid over 1,000 machine shops worldwide, with 80% of its customers based in the U.S. The software is designed to boost productivity without diminishing the expertise of skilled workers. Saville described CAM Assist as an “expert assistant” that alleviates the burdens of repetitive tasks, allowing professionals to focus on refinement and approval of the machining strategy.

Future Aspirations with New Funding

The recent funding round, led by Nimble Ventures, will enable CloudNC to broaden the adoption of CAM Assist and enhance its market presence. Additionally, the company plans to launch a new product called Quote Agent, aimed at helping manufacturers quickly assess project costs and risks. This development comes at a time when U.S. machine shops are looking to reshore operations amidst a skills shortage in the manufacturing sector, making rapid quoting and programming essential.
