Colombia's Ombudsman Critiques President Over Display of Bodies in Military Operations

The Colombian human rights ombudsman, Iris Marín, has publicly confronted President Abelardo de la Espriella regarding a controversial display of bodies from a military operation targeting suspected FARC dissidents. This marks a significant moment of discord between the newly inaugurated government and the rights body since it took office on August 7.
In a statement released on Sunday, Marín emphasized the importance of treating the deceased with dignity, asserting that the government should not engage in a competition with criminal organizations over cruelty.
