FIFA Clarifies Hosting Status for 2030 World Cup Final Amid Moroccan Claims

In a recent statement, FIFA has dismissed assertions made by the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation regarding Morocco's hosting of the 2030 World Cup final. The football governing body emphasized that no determination has been made yet regarding the final's venue.
The anticipation surrounding the 2030 FIFA World Cup is building, as Morocco is set to co-host the event alongside Spain and Portugal. This marks a significant moment, as it will be only the second time an African nation has hosted the World Cup final, following South Africa's historic event in 2010.
Fouzi Lekjaa, the head of Morocco’s football federation, made headlines when he claimed at a political rally that Morocco had secured the right to host the final. “The city of Benslimane will host the World Cup final. Hate it or love it and if anyone wants to talk on top of that, let them talk,” Lekjaa stated, asserting that the King Hassan II Stadium, which is currently under construction near Casablanca, will serve as the venue for the match.
FIFA has reiterated that a decision regarding the final's host city will be made “in due course,” and has previously refuted rumors suggesting that FIFA President Gianni Infantino promised Morocco the final in exchange for political backing amid his upcoming re-election bid.
