In a significant development, Geoffrey Tong Po-hang, the former vice-president of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX), has been charged by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) for allegedly failing to declare his assets.

The ICAC announced on Thursday that Tong, aged 39, is facing a charge related to his non-compliance with a statutory notice issued under the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance. This charge comes as part of an ongoing investigation by the watchdog.
