Freddie Meredith Joins 'SNL UK' for Season Two Kickoff

Freddie Meredith, known for his role in the BBC's 'Such Brave Girls', has been announced as a new cast member for the upcoming second season of 'Saturday Night Live UK'. This addition comes just after his debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where he showcased his comedy show 'Need a Light?' and received a nomination for best newcomer.

Meredith's impressive comedic repertoire includes performances in Channel 4’s 'Big Boys', and his recent role as Seb, the obliviously needy husband in 'Such Brave Girls'. He expressed his enthusiasm about joining the 'SNL UK' team, stating, “It will undoubtedly inform everything I do for the rest of my career, and I can’t wait for the experience.”

The new season is set to launch on September 12, with Jeff Goldblum as the host and musical guest CMAT. 'SNL UK', a spinoff of the iconic NBC series, will feature a rotating roster of celebrity hosts and musical guests, along with topical sketches and a unique British version of the beloved Weekend Update segment. Last season saw notable guests like Tina Fey and Jamie Dornan, attracting over 220,000 viewers for its premiere episode.
