Hong Kong's Education Sector Sparks Rising Property Demand

Hong Kong is positioning itself as a leading global education hub, and this ambition is set to significantly impact the local property market. According to a recent report by CBRE, the city anticipates an influx of approximately 200,000 non-local students by the year 2035.
This surge in international students is expected to create substantial demand for educational facilities, with estimates suggesting that existing international schools will need to expand significantly. To accommodate the influx, around 30,000 to 40,000 non-local students could require the establishment of 40 to 50 new school campuses.
The implications for the property sector are profound, as this growth could lead to a demand for an additional 1.11 million square meters (12 million square feet) of real estate dedicated to educational purposes. This transformation not only highlights the evolving landscape of education in Hong Kong but also underscores the potential for sustainable growth within the property market.
