Josh Johnson Unveils Upcoming Album 'Animative' with Star-Studded Collaboration

Josh Johnson, renowned co-founder of SML and member of Jeff Parker's ETA IVtet, is set to release his latest album 'Animative,' a follow-up to his 2024 project 'Unusual Object.' The album marks his debut under the prestigious labels International Anthem and Nonesuch, with a physical release scheduled for October 23, followed by a digital streaming release on November 10.

Featuring an impressive lineup of guest artists, including the acclaimed Meshell Ndegeocello, Macie Stewart, Marquis Hill, and Ben Lumsdaine, 'Animative' promises to be a compelling addition to Johnson's discography. Notably, Johnson produced Ndegeocello's 2023 album 'The Omnichord Real Book,' showcasing his diverse musical talents.

In celebration of the album's release, Johnson will perform with a trio consisting of Anna Butterss and Lumsdaine.
