Kazakhstan and Hong Kong Partner to Tackle Traffic Challenges

In a significant move towards enhancing urban mobility, Kazakhstan has formalized a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hong Kong's transport authorities aimed at establishing a dedicated laboratory focused on transport innovations. This partnership seeks to address the pressing issue of traffic congestion through the exploration of low-altitude economic initiatives.

During discussions held at the Belt and Road Summit in Hong Kong, Bakhtiyar Mukhametkaliyev, the vice-minister of artificial intelligence and digital development for Kazakhstan, engaged with Mable Chan, Hong Kong's Secretary for Transport and Logistics. Their conversation centered around collaborative efforts to improve transportation systems and mitigate traffic issues.

The establishment of the transport lab is expected to enhance research and development in the field, paving the way for innovative solutions that can alleviate urban traffic jams, a growing concern in many metropolitan areas.
