Modest Mouse and My Morning Jacket Join Forces for Neil Young Covers

In a delightful tribute to the legendary Neil Young, indie rock stalwarts Modest Mouse and My Morning Jacket have unveiled their latest contributions to the expansive Heart of Gold compilation series. Set to release on November 6, volumes two and three showcase their unique renditions of Young's classic tracks.

Modest Mouse, collaborating with Califone, breathes new life into "Barstool Blues," while My Morning Jacket enlists the Preservation Hall Jazz Band for a fresh take on "Like a Hurricane." Both tracks highlight the bands' distinctive styles while honoring Young's timeless music.

Fans of Young's work will find even more to enjoy in the new volumes, as they also feature previously released covers such as King Princess’s version of "Helpless" and Draco Rosa's rendition of "After the Gold Rush." Upcoming contributions from notable artists like MJ Lenderman, Kurt Vile, Lucinda Williams, and Ben Gibbard promise to enrich the collection, all in support of California's Bridge School. The first volume of the series included celebrated performances by Fiona Apple and Courtney Barnett.
