Opposition Gears Up for All-Parties Conference Amid National Issues

The political opposition in Pakistan is mobilizing efforts to convene an all-parties conference, aimed at addressing pressing national concerns, including the establishment of new provinces, economic challenges, and law and order issues. This announcement was made by Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), following a strategic meeting with Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F).

During a media briefing, Gohar emphasized the necessity for political unity in tackling these significant issues. He stressed, “We decided that on all national issues, we will take political parties into confidence,” highlighting the urgency of the current law and order situation and inflation. The discussions between PTI and JUI-F leaders focused on promoting constitutional integrity and democratic values in the country.

In a coordinated effort, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, along with Senate Opposition Leader Raja Nasir, met with PTI representatives to expedite the planning of the all-parties conference. They have scheduled a follow-up meeting for September 15 to assess the progress made and to ensure swift outreach to other political factions. This endeavor aligns with previous discussions held on August 20, where the TTAP and JUI-F laid the groundwork for a united opposition.
