New White House Arcade Games Spark Controversy Over Racism

The latest release from the White House has ignited a firestorm of criticism, as a new series of arcade games are being labeled as racially insensitive. One game, in particular, titled "Build the Wall," has drawn ire for its apparent mocking of serious policy issues.
Inspired by the classic puzzle game Tetris, "Build the Wall" tasks players with stacking shapes to thwart a so-called "zombie border siege". This gameplay is accompanied by imagery of aliens— a term the Trump administration uses for noncitizens— sprinting across the screen, raising concerns about the game's underlying messages.
The Tetris Company has already made its disapproval known, signaling that the association with the administration's agenda might not sit well with copyright holders. As these games roll out, many are questioning the motivations behind their creation and whether they trivialize important societal issues.
