Offerman's frustration was sparked after he viewed a clip of Shapiro criticizing the episode, which features a significant gay storyline. The actor noted that Shapiro's focus on the absence of zombies in that particular episode seemed to overshadow the deeper emotional narrative, stating, "The entire episode has no zombies, no real threat, and it’s just about love.”
In a pointed response, Offerman remarked, "Holy S—. That’s crazy," emphasizing his dismay at the way Shapiro dismissed the importance of representation and the storytelling aspect of the show.
