Operation Bluebird Launches Twitter.now, Reviving Classic Branding

In a bold move to reclaim the essence of the old Twitter, a group named Operation Bluebird has introduced Twitter.now, a platform designed to evoke nostalgia while providing an alternative to Elon Musk's rebranded X.
The new platform features a logo reminiscent of Twitter’s iconic blue bird, Larry, but with a fresh design suggesting a phoenix rising. Users will notice familiar elements, including the signature bright blue color and a reference to the infamous "fail whale" during outages.
Available for early access at $20, Twitter.now explicitly states it is "not affiliated with X Corp." Despite its nods to classic Twitter, the site aims to enhance user experience amid frustrations with the current state of social media. Co-founder Stephen Coates clarifies that the initiative is not about recreating the old platform but offering a new perspective.
Among its innovative features is an automated fact-checking tool named Vera, utilizing Google’s Gemini, and a "Birdhouse Constitution" that emphasizes equal application of rules, stating no one is above or below them. Operation Bluebird argues that X has neglected its trademarks, especially as daily active users of X declined by 10% last year, contrasting with the success of competitors like Meta's Threads.
