Palace Skateboards Celebrates Community in Wallpaper* Guest Edit

Emerging from the vibrant skate culture of London's Southbank Centre, Palace Skateboards has carved a niche for itself as a cult streetwear brand. Established in 2009 by Lev Tanju and Gareth Skewis, the brand first gained traction with T-shirts that humorously altered the logos of high-end fashion houses, a hallmark of its unique aesthetic.
Initially embraced by the Palace Wayward Boys Choir (PWBC), the brand has since evolved into a global icon recognized for its distinctive ‘Tri-Ferg’ logo, a design by Fergus Purcell inspired by the Penrose triangle. Palace's collaborations span a diverse range of partners, including Gucci, Nike, and Mercedes-AMG, reflecting Tanju's instinctive approach to collaboration. This creative synergy has led to products that resonate with the brand's signature dry humor and style.
As part of their recent guest edit for Wallpaper*, Tanju and Skewis shift the focus from themselves to the broader Palace community, featuring a roster of friends and collaborators from various creative fields. This initiative showcases the collective spirit of Palace, emphasizing its inclusivity. “Palace is for everyone,” Tanju asserts.
The guest edit introduces a variety of personalities, each sharing their unique contributions to the Palace ethos. Notable figures include Ben Drury, a versatile designer; Alexandrino Da Silva, a storyteller; and Bonnie Prince Billy, who facilitates musical experiences. Others like Shawn Powers and Aleks Soroka highlight their artistic processes, while DJ Bone and Lucien Clarke express their freedom to create in their respective domains.
Wallpaper’s October 2026 issue, featuring this collaborative effort, is set to hit newsstands on September 3, available in print and digitally for subscribers of the Wallpaper* app and Apple News +.
