Palestinian Foreign Minister Calls for Stronger Indian Advocacy on International Law

Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Aghabekian Shahin has urged India to take a stronger stance on violations of international law, particularly regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In a recent interview with The Hindu, Shahin emphasized that India should leverage its influence to advocate for peace and reconsider its arms transfers to Israel.

Shahin highlighted Palestine's enduring relationship with India, asserting that there is no problem with India maintaining ties with Israel. However, she described the escalating settler violence in the West Bank as 'very bad' and reaffirmed that a two-state solution is the only viable resolution. She also expressed confidence in U.S. President Donald Trump's commitment to a peace plan for Gaza.
