Pitso Mosimane Returns as South Africa's Head Coach Ahead of AFCON Qualifiers

Pitso Mosimane has been appointed as the head coach of South Africa's national football team, a decision confirmed on Tuesday after a prolonged approval process. The announcement comes 24 days after the South African Football Association greenlit his appointment.
Taking over from Hugo Broos, who retired post-World Cup, Mosimane has just 23 days to prepare for the team's first 2027 AFCON qualifier against Guinea. Despite Guinea's recent struggles, they feature top striker Serhou Guirassy from Borussia Dortmund.
This marks Mosimane's second stint with Bafana Bafana, having previously faced challenges in his first tenure. His notable club achievements include three CAF Super Cups and three Champions League titles, making him the most successful Black coach in CAF history.
