Palo Alto Networks Acquires AI Startup Console for $500 Million

Palo Alto Networks has made a significant move by acquiring Console, a startup specializing in AI-driven automation for IT help desk tasks, for $500 million in cash and stock. The deal was announced on Tuesday, although specific financial details were not disclosed.
Founded in 2024, Console had previously raised $29 million, including a notable $23 million in a Series A round co-led by Thrive Capital and DST Global. Before the acquisition, the startup held a valuation of $157 million, attracting investors like SV Angel, Abstract Ventures, and Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora.
With this acquisition, Palo Alto Networks plans to integrate Console's capabilities into its Cortex platform, enhancing its AI functionalities to enable security teams to handle alerts through natural language. This integration aims to provide more effective security solutions across enterprises. Console, which automated tasks like password resets and app access, had a roster of clients including Ramp and Scale AI.
Console's acquisition marks Palo Alto Networks' seventh purchase in 2026, following other notable acquisitions like Chronosphere and Koi. As the landscape of IT service management evolves, competitors like Serval remain prominent, especially after its recent $1 billion valuation.
