Oscar Piastri faced a challenging start at the Spanish Grand Prix, ultimately finishing eighth while racing with a damaged front wing after two collisions on the opening lap. The race, held at the new Madring circuit, showcased the resilience of the young Australian despite his early misfortunes.

Kimi Antonelli, who skillfully navigated the race, emerged victorious for Mercedes, significantly increasing his lead in the drivers' championship. With the race taking a pivotal turn due to a virtual safety car, Antonelli capitalized on an advantageous pit stop that shifted the dynamics in his favor as reigning champion Lando Norris lost his lead.

The race began with Piastri starting from seventh position. However, contact with George Russell not only compromised his front wing but also forced him to battle from behind for most of the race. After pitting late, Piastri managed to recover to eighth place, showcasing his determination.
