French authorities are investigating a Luger pistol retrieved from Lake Annecy, which may be linked to the infamous 2012 murders of a British-Iraqi family and a French cyclist. The discovery was made by British tourists on August 20.
The tragic incident, which took place near Chevaline, resulted in the deaths of Saad al-Hilli, his wife Iqbal, her mother Suhaila al-Allaf, and cyclist Sylvain Mollier. Remarkably, the couple's two daughters survived the attack, with one found hidden beneath her mother's body.
