Robert Pattinson Takes on Chris Hansen’s Voice for 'Primetime'

In his latest role, Robert Pattinson has embraced the challenge of portraying Chris Hansen, the iconic host of 'To Catch a Predator', in A24's upcoming film, 'Primetime'. During an interview with GQ India, Pattinson described the task as "incredibly difficult" due to Hansen's distinctive vocal style.

To master Hansen's voice, the actor turned to Hansen's podcast, 'Have A Seat with Chris Hansen', immersing himself in the material. Pattinson humorously recounted how he would practice his impressions while walking around, often leaving passersby perplexed. “His voice is really iconic to me, and it’s very hard to do it,” he admitted.

Pattinson initially joined the project as a producer after being captivated by Ajon Singh’s screenplay. He later suggested director Lance Oppenheim, aiming for a cinematic style reminiscent of Oliver Stone and Brian De Palma. The actor expressed excitement about the film, noting, “It’s really unusual and kind of audacious.”

Though Hansen was not involved in the film's creation, he has shared mixed feelings about the portrayal, stating that while it may be overly dramatic, he acknowledges Pattinson's ability to imitate him effectively in the trailer.
