Rolls-Royce Unveils Stunning Phantom Hummingbird with Unique Avian Design

Rolls-Royce has introduced the Phantom Hummingbird, a luxurious private commission that showcases the brand's commitment to bespoke craftsmanship. This latest offering from their Bespoke division illustrates the lengths to which the automaker will go to create a truly unique vehicle, standing alongside previous commissions like the Phantom Dragon and Phantom Goldfinger.

Exquisite Design Elements

The Phantom Hummingbird features a striking two-tone exterior in Wildberry and White Sands, complemented by an intricate hand-applied Coachline showcasing a hummingbird motif. However, the real innovation lies within the car's interior, which utilizes iridescent abalone shells for marquetry patterns, a first for Rolls-Royce. These shells create a dynamic surface that reflects the vibrant hues of a hummingbird's plumage.

Meticulous Craftsmanship

Designed as a gift for a client’s wife, the creation of the Phantom Hummingbird was a labor of love that took nine months. Each hummingbird inlay on the rear seat picnic tables consists of 53 meticulously laser-cut pieces of abalone and mother-of-pearl, highlighting the exceptional craftsmanship involved. Phil Fabre de la Grange, head of Bespoke at Rolls-Royce, noted the inventive challenge posed by incorporating abalone into their marquetry, stating, 'Our clients continually invite us to explore that inspiration in new and unexpected ways.'

Luxurious Interior Features

The interior of the Phantom Hummingbird is a testament to luxury, featuring Ash Burr veneer and Silver Birch accents that enhance the bird and floral designs. The seats are upholstered in Creme Light leather, with Moccasin and Tan detailing, all under the twinkling Rolls-Royce Starlight Headliner, which adds an ethereal ambiance to the lavish cabin.
