Spyker Unveils the C8 Preliator XXV at Monterey Car Week

At The Quail during Monterey Car Week, Spyker made a striking impression with the reveal of its C8 Preliator XXV, a stunning metallic green coupe featuring distinctive butterfly doors. Victor Muller, the company's founder and CEO, passionately introduced the vehicle, emphasizing the intimate connection it fosters between driver and machine.

Muller highlighted the car’s direct engagement, stating, "There is nothing between you and the gearbox; there is just your hands and the mechanics." This philosophy is embodied in the design of the Preliator XXV, with its exposed shift linkage immediately visible in the open cockpit.

This latest iteration of the Preliator name, which debuted in 2016, is built around a custom aluminum spaceframe and features a hand-crafted exterior by Coventry Prototype Panels. Only 25 units will be produced, each meticulously tailored to individual specifications.

Under the hood lies a powerful Audi-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that produces an impressive 800 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque, enabling a blistering 0-100 km/h sprint in just 2.7 seconds. The six-speed manual transmission, designed to be part of the interior experience, allows drivers to feel every gear shift as they navigate the road.

The cabin is adorned with luxurious touches, including a gear lever set in a rose-gold bezel, and aluminum analog gauges paired with physical controls. Each steering wheel is hand-stitched over four hours, reflecting a level of craftsmanship synonymous with the Spyker brand.

As Spyker embarks on this new chapter, the C8 Preliator XXV not only showcases their dedication to automotive artistry but also pays homage to their aviation heritage, making it a unique addition to the supercar landscape.
