Design duo Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell of Tanner Fletcher have introduced their Spring 2027 collection, drawing inspiration from their frequent travels to New England. This latest lineup follows their Cabinwear diffusion line, showcasing a unique nautical twist that reflects their personal journey and upcoming wedding.
During a preview at their Chelsea showroom, Richie shared insights about their wedding plans in New England, explaining that the region's charm influenced their collection. "We’ve been traveling around there so much, so we knew we wanted to do a collection based on that," he noted. The collection features a blend of playful and stylish pieces, including sailor dresses and cracker-jack trousers that capture a whimsical coastal essence.
Among the standout items are belted swim briefs in patriotic hues and the debut of one-piece swimsuits for women. Kasell mentioned that while they are exploring athletic apparel, it remains more about style than function, as evidenced by silk boxing shorts designed for glam rather than sweat. The collection also includes knitted pieces adorned with boat and berry motifs, celebrating New England's pick-your-own fruit tradition, and a fresh take on Ivy League prep with bold, clashing stripes.
As Tanner Fletcher navigates the fashion waters, they are broadening their appeal, making Cabinwear more accessible while simultaneously elevating their eveningwear offerings. The duo's focus on polka dots and chic satin tailoring reflects this dual approach, though they acknowledged the challenges of staging a runway show amidst their recent financial success. "We had our best month last month and if we did a show that definitely wouldn’t have happened," Richie commented.
