Evelina's Bold Step into Fashion with Unique Barely-There Heels at NYFW

In a striking display of creativity and innovation, Evelina, a 23-year-old designer, showcased her extraordinary Barely There heels at the recent New York Fashion Week. The collection, presented in a vibrant venue near Madison Square Garden, combined elements of hedonism and childlike whimsy, marking a notable moment in the young designer's career.

Evelina, a graduate from Polimoda, conceptualized her Barely There heels as part of her graduate collection, drawing inspiration from the film 'The Piano Teacher' by Michael Haneke and the self-portraits of Pierre Molinier. Although she couldn't attend the show due to visa issues, her vision came to life through the models who strutted in her designs. "The silhouette was my first experience in footwear, and I crafted the shoe from the anatomy of my own feet to explore themes of conservative ambiguity," she shared after the event.

Fashion director Nicholas Aburn discovered Evelina's work on Instagram and invited her to be part of the show, where they collaborated to refine her initial designs. He praised her creations for their delicate beauty and emotional resonance, noting how they evoke a sense of innocence akin to lounging at home in cozy socks. The Barely There heels, with their surreal aesthetic, challenge conventional footwear norms, blending elements of ballet and lingerie, and are now available for purchase. Evelina's parting message? "I realized that so many people are actually ashamed of their feet. Guys, free your toes."
