The Eco-Oasis Pavilion: Where Gardening Meets Relaxation

By Editor • September 15, 2026 • 1 min read

In a groundbreaking design that harmonizes gardening and leisure, the Eco-Oasis Pavilion redefines what a backyard greenhouse can be. This innovative structure, conceived by designer Michael Jantzen, integrates a functional greenhouse with a cozy outdoor living space, eliminating the need to choose between nurturing plants and unwinding in comfort.

Innovative Design Features

The Eco-Oasis Pavilion boasts a unique tunnel-shaped greenhouse at its core, constructed from sliding curved panels that open up like ribs. This design allows ample sunlight to nourish the plants while providing a secondary layer of shading that can be adjusted based on weather conditions. When not in use, these panels neatly retract into built-in storage bays, maintaining a clean aesthetic.

Efficient Climate Control

To tackle the challenges of temperature regulation, the greenhouse incorporates mirrored walls which reflect sunlight deeper into the space, maximizing light absorption. Additionally, water-filled tubes along the north wall capture and release solar heat, ensuring a stable temperature overnight. Natural ventilation is facilitated through strategically placed sliding panels and exhaust vents, eliminating the need for mechanical cooling and reducing energy consumption.

Harvesting Resources Sustainably

The pavilion's roof is equipped with a solar panel that not only generates electricity but also collects rainwater, stored in two steel tanks for watering the garden. This thoughtful design means that all resources for gardening are sourced from nature, showcasing how sustainability and comfort can coexist seamlessly.
