Tragic Stabbing in Times Square Claims Life of Bank of America Employee

A brutal stabbing incident in Times Square has left one woman dead and another person injured, shaking the heart of New York City. Erin Piacenti, a 32-year-old Bank of America employee, was fatally attacked on August 31, 2026, in the midst of one of the city’s busiest areas.

Police have reported that Piacenti was among two victims of a random stabbing spree carried out by 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros. The confrontation escalated when officers arrived, leading to Cisneros being shot and killed after she refused to comply with police commands.

The bank expressed its profound sorrow over the loss, stating, “We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague.” Piacenti, a graduate of Fordham Law School, was remembered fondly by her alma mater, which noted her recent graduation in 2021 alongside her husband.

The second victim, a 68-year-old man, was also assaulted during the rampage and remains hospitalized, with updates on his condition pending.

Authorities revealed that Cisneros had a history of mental health issues but had not been arrested in New York City. Her brother, Patrick Peralta, described her as having struggled with psychiatric problems for years but noted a more stable period in recent times. He expressed his condolences to Piacenti’s family, stating, “We really don’t know how to explain why this happened.”
