Trump Bestows Generous Holiday Gifts on White House Aides

By Editor • September 9, 2026 • 1 min read

In a notable act of holiday generosity, President Donald Trump has gifted four aides of the White House substantial amounts for the festive season, as revealed in recent financial disclosures. Each of the three aides—Executive Assistant Natalie Harp, Communications Adviser Margo Martin, and Deputy Director of Oval Office operations Chamberlain Harris—received gifts totaling $45,000, while Walt Nauta, the director of Oval Office operations, received a $20,000 gift.

These gifts were officially reported in the aides' annual financial disclosure forms, made public last week. Harp, Martin, and Harris are all on salaries of $150,000 per year, whereas Nauta earns $175,000, according to the White House's salary disclosure report submitted to Congress.

A White House official, who requested anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the topic, indicated that Trump has a long-standing tradition of giving holiday gifts to those within his circle, which has included both employees and aides during his time in office and in his private business ventures. The official also clarified that these cash gifts were not connected to the recipients' official duties, thus adhering to legal and ethical standards.

Among the recipients, Natalie Harp is particularly notable for her close association with Trump, often seen with a portable printer to provide him with printed media coverage—a preference of the President, who favors reading information on paper. Margo Martin has been a loyal aide since the Trump administration's first term, transitioning to work with him in Florida after the 2020 election. Chamberlain Harris was appointed to the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts earlier this year, overseeing a project related to the White House ballroom.

The financial disclosures, first reported by The Washington Post, shed light on this gesture of generosity as the holiday season approaches.
