Wavves to Rethink Collaboration Album Amid Bemis Controversy

By Editor • September 2, 2026 • 1 min read

In light of recent allegations against Say Anything's Max Bemis, Wavves frontman Nathan Williams has announced plans to rework their collaborative album, Cherry Soda. Following Bemis's cancellation of acoustic performances due to claims of inappropriate messaging with underage fans, Williams took to Instagram to express his intentions, stating, "Going back into the studio on Monday and I will finish this as a proper Wavves album."

The controversy surrounding Bemis began last month, leading Williams to distance himself from the project and express frustration over the collaboration's handling.
