May Sparks Creativity: Eight Designboom Competitions You Can't Miss

As May unfolds, design enthusiasts are in for a treat with eight exciting competitions hosted by designboom, an organization dedicated to nurturing creative talent since 1999. These competitions cater to a diverse range of participants, from fresh graduates to seasoned architects, all aiming to showcase their innovative ideas and projects.
Among the standout contests is the FIELD STATION hosted by TerraViva, inviting entrants to create a multidisciplinary campus within Virginia's serene Shenk Property, nestled along the Severn River. This unique site encourages the integration of architecture with the delicate ecosystems of the area. Early registration opens from May 20 until July 25, with final submissions due by October 3.
Another intriguing challenge is the FLOAT HOUSE competition organized by World Architecture Competitions (WAC). The Future Art & Design Award UK (FADA) by Global Arts Group UK closes submissions on May 28, 2025, encouraging a blend of design and art across multiple disciplines. Meanwhile, the NY Architectural Design Awards rewards innovative designs, with entries accepted until October 22, 2025.
Lastly, the Golden Pin Design Award by Taiwan's Industrial Development Administration is open for entries until June 24, 2025, recognizing excellence in commercially available designs and projects.
