A charter plane with eight individuals aboard crashed near a radar site in western Alaska on August 20, 2026. The aircraft, which departed from Anchorage, went down during its approach to Cape Newenham.
Clint Johnson, chief of the National Transportation Safety Board’s Alaska region, confirmed the presence of two pilots and six passengers but did not provide information regarding their condition.
In response to the incident, the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center initiated a search and rescue operation, noting that further details would be made available soon.
