Australia Condemns Israel's Decision to Halt Investigation into Aid Worker Deaths

Australia's Foreign Minister Penny Wong expressed her government's deep dissatisfaction with Israel on Thursday, following the latter's decision to cease its investigation into the tragic deaths of aid worker Lalzawmi "Zomi" Frankcom and six of her colleagues.
In April 2024, Frankcom and her team from World Central Kitchen lost their lives when an Israeli air strike targeted their aid convoy in Gaza, sparking international outrage and calls for enhanced protections for aid workers operating in conflict zones.
Wong characterized the current state of relations with Israel as "difficult," indicating a significant strain in diplomatic ties over the handling of this incident.
