Aylo Settles Child Abuse Lawsuits with $120 Million Payout

By Editor • August 17, 2026 • 1 min read

In a significant legal settlement, Aylo, the rebranded entity of Mindgeek, will pay $120 million to resolve allegations of child sexual abuse material on its platforms. This agreement comes in response to two class action lawsuits filed in California and Alabama in 2021, highlighting serious accusations of federal law violations regarding sex trafficking and child abuse.

The lawsuits detailed distressing accounts from victims, including a woman whose ex-boyfriend allegedly posted videos of her abuse when she was just 16. Another case involved two women who claimed they were trafficked as minors, with one asserting that her abuser profited from videos uploaded to Pornhub's Modelhub program.

The settlement encompasses anyone under 18 who appeared in videos on Mindgeek-operated sites from February 12, 2011, to December 6, 2024. Aylo is set to contribute $25 million initially in 2026, followed by annual payments over six years. Notably, this settlement does not imply any admission of wrongdoing by Aylo.

In addition to the financial compensation, Aylo has committed to stricter content moderation practices, including verifying that all models in uploaded content are over 18 and enhancing review processes to prevent child sexual abuse material. The company has already implemented many of these measures as part of its ongoing efforts to improve platform safety.

Aylo's management emphasized their commitment to user safety, stating that verified content creators are the only ones allowed to upload, with each submission undergoing rigorous checks before going live. These developments come on the heels of past scrutiny over the site’s content management practices.
