Back to Hogwarts Day: A Global Push to Share the Magic of Reading

As the enchanting Back to Hogwarts Day approaches on September 1, the world of Harry Potter is set to reach new readers through a massive book donation initiative. In a collaboration among publishers Scholastic, Bloomsbury, Pottermore, and their international partners, over 200,000 Harry Potter books will be distributed to schools, libraries, and hospitals across the globe.

Focusing on underserved communities, Scholastic will contribute 100,000 copies of 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone' in the United States. Additionally, 100,000 audiobooks will be provided to teachers through a partnership with Audible and Pottermore.

Meanwhile, Bloomsbury in the U.K. plans to donate books to various charities, including The National Literacy Trust and Give a Book, with accompanying audiobooks made available through Pottermore and Audible. Library waitlists for digital editions of the series will also be lifted during September, offering wider access to eager readers.

Anticipation for this year’s Back to Hogwarts is heightened by the upcoming HBO adaptation of 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.' A one-day fan experience in London promises magical surprises and exclusive giveaways, ensuring that the spirit of Hogwarts continues to inspire young minds.
