Behr has introduced its 2027 Color of the Year, Grounded (T27-01), a unique green that blends moss and olive with earthy brown undertones. This versatile shade adapts beautifully to changing light throughout the day.
Kayla Kratz, Behr’s color expert, emphasizes the color's dynamic nature, noting how it shifts from vibrant in the morning to warmer and deeper by evening. “In clear morning light, its mossy green feels freshest,” she explains.
The creation of Grounded involved meticulous adjustments to the green and brown components, ensuring each contributed to the overall effect without overshadowing the green base. This color embodies a broader trend towards rich earth tones and natural materials that foster a connection to the outdoors.
Reflecting on this, Kratz states, “Beneath a tree canopy, green exists beside bark, soil, and shadow,” highlighting the importance of how colors interact in nature. Grounded is set to anchor Behr’s 2027 Color Trends Palette, which includes a range of warm neutrals and layered colors inspired by nature.
