Lebanon faced a surge in violence, marking its deadliest day in months as Israeli airstrikes resulted in 11 fatalities, including senior Hezbollah commander Abu Hassan Alaa.
The Israeli Defense Forces launched the strikes as retaliation for a Hezbollah attack that injured three Israeli soldiers. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned of further action against the Iranian-backed group if provoked.
