Initially planned as a multi-artist gathering in Nashville for January 2026, the festival will now serve as a vibrant homage to Parton, with her longtime business partner Danny Nozell stating that it aligns with her wishes. According to Nozell, Parton preferred a celebration over a traditional memorial, emphasizing that "what Dolly started, we will ensure is brought to life." He added that this festival concept was close to Parton’s heart, originally intended for her 80th birthday.
While many tributes are expected in the immediate future, the estate sees this festival as an authentic way to celebrate her life, allowing fans and artists to participate in a joyful remembrance.
