The New York Film Festival is set to make waves this year with the world premiere of Paul Thomas Anderson's highly anticipated film, "Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall." Scheduled for October 1 at Alice Tully Hall, this cinematic concert will showcase the exceptional talents of Brooklyn artist Cameron Winter, both as a solo performer and the frontman of the band Geese.

Winter’s mesmerizing performance at Carnegie Hall on December 11, 2025, is described as a transformative experience, featuring a stripped-down set accompanied by a Steinway grand piano. His vocal prowess resonated profoundly in the venue, known for its impeccable acoustics. Anderson was on hand, capturing this pivotal moment with a crew that included Benny Safdie, resulting in a visually stunning film that beautifully balances intimate portraits of Winter with the grandeur of the iconic hall.

NYFF Artistic Director Dennis Lim heralded the film as a remarkable concert movie that captures a generational talent at the height of his powers. Following its festival debut, a 35mm print of the film will be released in theaters this fall, courtesy of Criterion and Janus Films. Additionally, Winter will also appear in Jonathan Glazer's "Joy of Joys," another Spotlight selection at this year's festival.
