The attack severely impacted the plant's operations, one of Ukraine's largest steel producers. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the relentless assaults on civilian areas, noting the extensive damage inflicted across various regions, including a popular book market in Kyiv where multiple stalls were destroyed.
Zelenskyy emphasized the need for enhanced air defense systems, citing the recent barrage of over 1,550 attack drones and 62 missiles targeting Ukrainian cities. He called on allies for immediate assistance, stressing that European interceptors must not remain unused as the conflict escalates.
