In a troubling surge of violence, recent Russian airstrikes have claimed the lives of at least five individuals across Ukraine. The latest round of assaults saw missiles and drones targeting various locations, including a bustling market in Kyiv, where emergency responders worked to extinguish the flames ignited by the strikes.
Kyiv's Mayor, Vitali Klitschko, reported injuries to at least six people, including a child, as air-raid sirens blared multiple times since Saturday evening. Meanwhile, in Zaporizhzhia, a guided bomb resulted in two fatalities, while Dnipropetrovsk officials confirmed one death and 14 injuries from the onslaught.
Ukraine's defense forces claimed to have intercepted three Russian missiles and nearly 100 drones. Moscow's mayor noted that around 600 Ukrainian drones targeted the city overnight, with some damage reported to a Wildberries warehouse, a significant retail hub in Russia.
As tensions escalate, the Romanian defense ministry confirmed the interception of a drone that had crossed into its airspace, further illustrating the broadening impact of the ongoing conflict.
