Deadly Drone Strikes Escalate Conflict in Ukraine and Russia

In retaliation, Russian missile attacks on Ukraine claimed at least seven lives and left over 39 injured, with significant strikes reported in Kyiv. Mayor Vitali Klitschko noted that air-raid sirens blared four times overnight in the Ukrainian capital, where a book market suffered destruction, reinforcing the civilian toll of this conflict. Residents, like Valentina, mourned the loss of personal belongings, while others expressed outrage over the devastation of their businesses.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the relentless attacks, stating that 13 regions experienced aggression this week, with thousands of drones and missiles launched. As both sides engage in intense aerial combat, the war's focus has shifted away from ground battles to the skies, with each nation attempting to undermine the other's military capabilities.
