Flash Floods in Nepal Leave Australian Among Hundreds Missing

Tragedy struck the Tibet-Nepal border as flash floods have resulted in at least one Australian being reported missing among nearly 300 foreign nationals. The chaotic deluge, which began early Wednesday morning, has claimed the lives of at least nine people in Nepal, according to local authorities.
The Nepal tourism board confirmed that 384 travelers are unaccounted for, with the situation exacerbated by an earthquake that triggered an avalanche along the Bhote Koshi river in Rasuwa.
Images from the disaster zone depict severe destruction, including washed away homes and vehicles. Local officials have urged residents to evacuate to higher ground, anticipating further casualties. Meanwhile, Chinese officials are also on high alert for major casualties in the Gyirong area due to a mudslide.
