Global Interest Grows for Iranian Film 'A Bit of Light' Ahead of Venice Debut

By Editor • August 26, 2026 • 1 min read

Ali Asgari’s Iranian drama, A Bit of Light, is generating significant buzz with international buyers ahead of its competitive premiere at the Venice International Film Festival next month.

Sales agency Salaud Morisset, based in Paris and Berlin, has secured distribution deals across multiple countries, including France, Italy, Spain, and Brazil. Negotiations are ongoing for additional markets in the U.K. and Central Europe.

The film stars Misagh Zareh as a disillusioned doctor whose life spirals after his arrest by the regime. As he faces his mortality, he spends a final day with his family, preparing them for his inevitable departure. This poignant narrative follows Asgari's previous work, Divine Comedy, which also premiered at Venice.

Paul Jullien from Salaud Morisset expressed pride in representing the film, noting the urgent desire among distributors to share its impactful story with audiences.
